April is nearly over, flew by so fast! The end of the month means another edition of “my favorite things”, and there have been a few, mostly they are skin care and makeup related.
I am attaching links for I herb simply because this is where I got them, these are not affiliated links, look for these products in whichever website/store you are comfortable with.
THE best buy of this month was the PIXI face oil. I have to admit I was a little hesitant about using oil on my face, the idea made me think about a shiny (not in a good way) sweaty skin. However, I read a lot a good things about this product, what made me decide to try it was reading it has pomegranate oil in it. I have heard a lecture once about the advantages of pomegranate oil for the skin and for overall health and I really wanted to try it.
I have been using this product for a month now and am SO happy with it. I apply it at night and I wake up in the morning with a clear fresh looking skin that feels soft and hydrated all day long. Now, I have to admit something bad – I am the WORST at drinking water. I can go a whole day on one glass of water (and 4 coffees) which is a terrible thing for the skin. I also live in a desert climate which also doesn’t help. However since I have been using this oil (along with the rest of my nightly skincare routine) my skin feels fantastic. The price is pretty reasonable considering you only need to use about 3 drops of it each time, so it last for a while.
This is definitely going on my re-order list.
Physician’s Formula is a brand I have been meaning to try for a while now, as I am looking for products that are right for sensitive skin (especially when it comes to eye makeup products).
I had a little makeup kit accident (dropped it) last month, which left me needing to renew my collection, so that was an opportunity to finally try this brand.
The first product I tried and have been happily using, is the Butter Blush. Before actually applying it to my face I fell in love with the smell of it. This coconut buttery scent that for me is addictive, if it’s not something you like don’t try it, as it is a pretty noticeable scent. I have to admit I take a whiff of it just for fun sometimes:)
I like my blush on the more natural side, something between a natural flush to a very light tan, which is what this color does for me, so the shade I chose is just right.
Another definite re-order.
The second product I tried by this brand is the Nude eye shadow palate. Now this palate is great,
I absolutely love how cute the package is it (yes I am shallow like that), but aside from that, these colors are my colors. I never use a liquid liner, I always use a slightly damp brush dipped in dark brown eye shadow, which is what the darkest color in this palate is perfect for. I didn’t even notice when I purchased it that it is made for using with a wet brush for a more dramatic effect, and dry for a more natural look. I really enjoy playing with that.
I love the champagne shimmery color and the silvery grey one. All of the colors are shimmery, which is something you need to be aware of. The pigment is pretty good, especially while used on top of a primer. In this picture I applied the color directly on my skin and it is still very noticeable as you can see. I love the fact that it has all of my favorite colors all in one very very affordable palate that allows for a diverse types of looks, day to evening.
Another favorite purchase this month is my new bullet journal which I finally started!
I saw this notebook at a craft store I was visiting and immediately picked it up. It made me want to write inside it. So now I use it a bullet journal. I started making cute layouts inside. I use it mainly for work things which I find helpful.
The last thing I enjoyed during April is the flowers you can see in the pictures. I started a new selfcare habit this month, buying myself pretty flowers for my work space every week. It’s a little weekly treat I give myself and it always makes uplift my spirit, plus my little work corner looks feminine and much more appealing this way. This is a habit I plan on keeping.
What were your favorite things this month? New positive habits you picked up? Would love to hear about it.
