I was nominated for the Liebster award by the talented Anna of Frertsu’s world blog (https://kirakiratsu.com/) . Anna presented some lovely interesting questions she wanted me to answer so here is a little bit of my inner world:
- Is there anything you would like to change about your blog?
Well my blog is rather new, and it went through a lot of changes and re-branding after a month of being live – I switched to self-hosting which brought everything home for me, I like the way it is right now but am always looking for ways to grow and learn.
- What’s your guilty pleasure?
My evening ritual after the kiddies are in their beds – I light a scented candle, I pure myself a little red wine, and relax with a romance novel. It’s the time in the day for me to just sit still and just relax.
- How has blogging changed your life?
In so many ways! The main one being – it brought me back to thinking creatively all the time which is something I missed so so much. I am always thinking about new ideas for posts, seeing things as a possible photo op., It also introduced me to a fantastic bloggers community that taught me a lot and offers constant support and a well of knowledge. I appreciate that in ways I cannot express in words.
- What is the biggest challenge about blogging for you?
Promoting it – for sure. Everything to do with self-promotion is very difficult for me. I can do it wonderfully for others but when it comes to my own creations I find it very hard.
- What three items would you take to a desert island?
A book, lots of paper, writing materials. At least I could use the time to be productive, I’d be bored out of my mind without it.
- Do you have any influencer (blogger, actor, singer etc) who inspires and motivates you?
I am also a romance author, and when it comes to writing my Idol is Jane Austen. My friend and I have this saying between us, that whatever situation or problem in life you are faced with, you can find the appropriate quote in a Jane Austen book. She was so ahead of her times I am just in awe every time I pick up one of her books a reread them.
- Would you encourage other people to make their blog?
Absolutely. If one is in need of creative outlet then a blog is a wonderful one, and it also opens a whole new world of experiences and opportunities.
- Do you have favorite apps?
I love the Pinterest app – I’m never bored when I am waiting or sitting in a car or whatever, I always find something pretty and interesting to look at in there. Also Whatsapp is a huge lifesaver for me – I HATE talking on the phone, so whatsapp is perfect for me.
- What was the worst book you ever read or even dropped?
I am a huge lover of books, I read a lot, I know what I like so I don’t really remember a time I dropped a book, I am kind of obsessive about it – I have to get to the end.
- How do you promote your blog?
As I wrote that is a sore point for me – so I choose the route I enjoy – I engage with other bloggers and followers I have on social media. Since I honestly enjoy it and enjoy reading and “meeting” other bloggers, it works for me.
- If you could go on a date with any character (book, film, game etc) who would it be and why?
Yeah I’m not going to be too interesting here – I will repeat a previous answer, Jane Austen, I would love to pick her brain a little e bit over an afternoon tea.
My questions for the nomnees:
- What’s the one new thing you discovered about your self through the blogging process?
Good Luck, I look forward to reading your answers!
